Thanks.  That looks like it might help.  i was using an rpm, but i
grabbed the latest source (hylafax-4.1rc2) and tried to apply the patch:

[root@one hylafax-4.1rc2]# patch -p1 < patch-ModemDTRDropDelay.txt

can't find file to patch at input line 53
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
