This looks very much like the ATH problem that I mentioned before, and now
that 4.1rc2 is available, you can use that version which has the fix.

Ignore this and use 4.1rc2.  If you installed via RPM, then ask me to send
you an RPM.

The ATH error will not surface in minicom because of the differences in the
way it handles the serial port.
