I'd put /usr/bin/faxmail -d blah blah and the redirect into a script,
and have exim pipe to the script, myself.
Either that, or quote the entire command line
|"/usr/bin/faxmail -d blah >/dev/null"
...but I'm not sure that would be considered acceptable syntax.
