Re: [hylafax-users] faxcover.ps working for sendfax but not Cyphe us

Well, Bodo was kind enough to have a look at my cover page and after running
the PostScript (destined to HylaFax) through GhostView, it produced a
somewhat slightly more informative error:

Unrecoverable error: typecheck in search
Operand stack:
       300 -93 1783

--- Begin offending input ---

--- End offending input ---
file offset = 37899
gsdll_execute_cont returns -20

<<

As Bodo observed also, as soon as I remove the Postscript code to do
BreakIntoLines, everything works (but of course no comments).

The code I'm using (which works with sendfax but not Cypheus), is as
follows:

/linewidth 1783 def
/lineheight -93 def
/y 1517 def /x 300 def
linewidth lineheight x y comments BreakIntoLines

For whatever reason, when used with Cypheus, it produces the above error.

I will be the first to admit to being a Postscript novice so if anybody else
has any ideas, I'd certainly appreciate it. The cover page is located at
http://members.home.net/vmsguy/faxcover.ps

Thanks.

Yes, you're right - faxcover does fill in the required variables. However,
according to the author of Cypheus who has contacted me privately, Cypheus
does the same thing. He has kindly requested a copy of my cover page to see
if it can be reproduced on his system.

I think the faxcover.ps as it is, isn't really a proper .ps document.
I think you need to run the executable "faxcover" on it to fill in
some blanks, etc. to create a full postscript page which could be sent
directly to a printer, for example.

I know nothing about Cypheus, so if it's doing this, then I'm sorry I
don't have anything else to suggest.
