[hylafax-users] Incoming Faxes are being scrambled

I sent a question yesterday but I was not subscribing to this list. So I am
resending this question but I also have some followup info.

I am running RH7.0, Hyla-Fax 4.1beta2 (binary
hylafax-4.1beta2-2rh7.i386.rpm), libtiff 3.4 (developer beta037-4),
Multitech 2834ZDX modems (four of 'em), and a RocketPort multi-I/O card.

I have had problems receiving faxes with this set up from certain senders.
When I receive thier transmission all I get is a garbled tiff that is
usually just an inch or more of legible text and then the rest is black
lines and speckles. The sender would get a successful transmission reprot
from his fax machine. When I have the sender send the fax to a standalone
fax machine (Richoh), the fax will be successful. When I send from my Richoh
to my HylaFax server it has no problems.

I was very puzzled because the log reported no errors (see below).

I decided to use one of the suggestions I recently read to have the modem
perform QC on the line so I implemented the command in the config.ttyR0
script (and my other three lines): Class2CQQueryCmd: "!(0),(0)".

Upon doing that (I had to let one incoming fax go through before the command
took hold) suddenly I began receving major errors and the fax was rejected!
This happened with my "sure bet" Richoh which had never failed to send a fax
to my Hylafax server. Here's the log....

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have read some people being given
the suggestion of going to Class 1 faxing but we need to send and receive
faxes. I am lead to believe that I need Class2 to do both. Correct me if I'm
not right in that thought.

Best Regards,
Dennis Fellows
