Re: [hylafax-users] hylafax - mail to fax

Hi Michael,

Thanks for this valuable tip ;-)

So, I ran the m4. Sofar so good. I can't restart sendmail, since this is not running on my server. Well, yes and no. Let me explain. Sendmail is disabled on the server. This because of my mailserver Dmail (www.netwinsite.com). However, Dmail replaced the file sendmail with it's one sendmail. Because of this,
all scripts that refere to sendmail are beeing routed to Dmail.

What I like to test now is if Hylafax works with Dmail aswell. But I need some help here. I've been reading the mailfax man, but can't figure out how to work it out. The basic idea is to offer virtual domains that I have on my webserver the possibility to use the mail-to-fax server. Without to be worried about
abuse of the mail-to fax gateway I think I could create an account customer1@mydomain.com, where I enter a forwardingaddress to mailfax. Nobody but me knows what the forwarding address is, so therefore I don't need to be worried for abuse...

But how do I format the address. What are the steps I need to take to allow this customer1 to use the mail-to-fax.

What happened in my case was that the second line of the .mc additions has an extra space which forces hylafax to try dialing the letters "pt" instead of the number sent as the email address.
