Yes as Jay said, you set up the Apple Laserwriter printer driver to "print
to file" and then you change the settings/properties in the printer driver
to the most portable code possible.  You'll get pretty Postscript from a
.doc file when you print from Word to the "printer".

The thing that you need to be cautious about is that the faxcover
documentation is misleading, especially when it comes to from-sender
options and CommentX/commentsX.  See
