Well, maybe you shouldn't worry about these patches.  They're not critical.

However, if you're interested in doing it, you need to download the patches
from the website.  In most browsers, that's a right-click on the link and
"Save link as..."

You apply patches to source code via "patch".  There's a nice little intro
into the patch command found at: http://www.hylafax.org/patches/, but you
should ignore all of the patches there.  The link that it gives to "Patch
for Beginners" is informative.

After patching (or not), you install CVS HylaFAX just the same as you would
install tarball HylaFAX:

cd hylafax
./configure
make
make install
faxsetup
