[hylafax-users] Question: Communication error, call aborted
Dear all,
We have an HP9000/D330 (s800) running HP-UX 10.20 with a Wisecom
V.90/K56flex class 2 faxmodem (it has a Rockwell AC/K56 chip). But I
cannot get HylaFax to work correctly on this system.
I downloaded and installed all necessary software and ran faxsetup. Adding
the modem prooved difficult, so I changed some timeouts in the faxaddmodem
script (ONLY timeouts!) and the modem was recognised. Sending faxes also
worked with one problem: the last page always gives a communication error.
On the remote end, about 75% of this last page is printed. All previous
pages are received correctly on the remote end, no matter how many pages
are faxed. It's always the last page that gives this problem.
We also have an old server (HP9000/E35, also HP-UX 10.20, Boca modem with
Rockwell AC/V34 chip) which has to be replaced by this new server. The old
server was configured by our former system administrator (who doesn't work
here anymore) and HylaFax works well on that system. So I decided to
compare the logfiles.
The following is a good transmission on our old server:
01: <-- data [131]
02: SENT 15490 bytes of data
03: <-- data [2]
04: SEND end page
05: --> [2:OK]
06: SEND send EOP (no more pages or documents)
07: <-- [9:AT+FET=2\r]
08: --> [8:+FPTS: 1]
09: SEND recv MCF (message confirmation)
10: SEND FAX (00000002): FROM faxmaster@euroserv.library.tudelft.nl TO
0,070 3112645 (page 2 of 2 sent in 0:21)
11: SEND FAX (00000002): FROM faxmaster@euroserv.library.tudelft.nl TO
0,070 3112645 (docq/doc1098.tif;41 sent in0:21)
12: <-- [5:ATH0\r]
13: --> [8:+FHNG: 0]
14: REMOTE HANGUP: Normal and proper end of connection (code 0)
15: --> [2:OK]
16: SESSION END
But on our new server the logfile reads:
01: <-- data [425]
02: SENT 81320 bytes of data
03: <-- data [2]
04: SEND end page
05: --> [2:OK]
06: <-- [6:AT+FK\r]
07: --> [8:+FHNG: 2]
08: REMOTE HANGUP: Call aborted, from +FK or <CAN> (code 2)
09: --> [2:OK]
10: <-- [5:ATH0\r]
11: --> [2:OK]
12: SESSION END
The difference starts at line 06. The old server ends with AT+FET=2\r,
while the new server uses AT+FK\r. Apparently this is not the correct way
of terminating the communication. But since I cannot find a list of
AT+Fxxx commands, I can not verify the correctness of it.
If this is indeed the problem, how can it be solved? How can I specify
which AT command should be used to close the connection?
I would really appreciate all help on this one since the replacement of
the old server was scheduled for last week. So time is not on my hand.
Thanks in advance
