[hylafax-users] Another no response to MPS code 52
Greetings List,
I have hylafax rpm (based on hylafax-cvs-20000604) running on redhat linux
6.2 with linux-2.2.17. Everything has gone well for the last couple of
months since we switched from a Hayes Acura 56K internal to a Multitech
MT5634ZPXi internal (for testing). At least until the multi met a
Panasonic KXFP250 fax machine :-)
I've created a config file going by the faq and what experience I have
with past configurations, tried xonxoff/crtscts and high and low speed DTE
rates with no success in making a fax go through the Panasonic. One in
twelve faxes make it past the first page but then die.. This is the first
failure I've had with the modem - it has sent to over 30 differant offices
without problem...
Looking through the archives, the best (common) answer I have found is "it
could be many things that cause MPS failure"... Is there any one document
that describes the possibile causes of a MPS failure so I could go down a
check list of probable causes??
Here is the important part of my config file:
==cut===
ModemType: Class2 # use this to supply a hint
ModemRate: 38400 # max rate for DCE-DTE communication
ModemFlowControl: rtscts # Hardware flow control assumed
#
ModemWaitTimeCmd: ATS7=60 # wait 60 seconds for carrier
ModemRecvFillOrder: MSB2LSB # bit order of received facsimile
ModemHardFlowCmd: AT&K3 # enable hardware flow control
Class2HFLOCmd: AT+FLO=2 # fax class 2 hardware flow control

and here is a log from the last attempt...

One thing that is weird is after the ATZ the modem responds with a bunch
of junk characters - not sure what causes that but I've seen it only with
this model of modem... and it doesn't seem to be a problem on other calls.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
