Are you certain that this is a HylaFAX problem and not a fax viewer
problem?  Try viewing it on the server system and then also on a couple of
different clients.

If the received fax is really being reduced, then I don't have an answer
for that - however, I did experience fax "squishing" when I used
libtiff-3.5.4.  I no longer had that occur with libtiff-3.5.5.
