Maybe have a look at http://www.hylafax.org/patches/ then for
xferfax-patch.sh

"Shell script that changes the name of all xfer* files to xferfax* to avoid
clashing with the xferstats and xferlog files of the wu-ftp program. This
particularly applies to users of RedHat Linux.
