Well, it *eventually* looks for a file, no? Or is the message
intended to mean that ...

... found a fontmap but couldn't find that font listed in it?

AHA! That paragraph is what I needed. Thanks.
BTW: lots of stuff says "hyla.conf". I don't have one of those. I
have an hfaxd.conf; is that the same thing?
