FIFO='first-in first-out', is the name of a special file that HylaFAX uses
to access the serial port for the modem.  (I stand to be corrected on this
hodge-podge definition.)

I'm guessing that you haven't run faxsetup or faxaddmodem after your
installation of 4.1beta2.
