RE: mailfax

AFAIK RH6.2 comes with libtiff 3.5:

Do you know the problem with libtiff 3.5?

Search the archives and look at
http://www.hylafax.org/patches/tiff-3.5-interfaces.patch

Are you sure you really can send faxes without mail to fax gateway?

Bernd

Hello,
I am RH6.2 and Hylafax 4.1beta1pl2.
I can send and receive faxes.

I am stuck with the mail to fax gateway.
I send an email like: vmoreno@0630331729.fax
and only get a process faxq in the 'top' of the processes.

Send root receives an email with:

*Subject: facsimile job 25 to num.fax@0630331729 failed
*
*Your facsimile job to num.fax@0630331729 failed because:
*    <no reason recorded>
*
*    ---- Transcript of session follows ----
*
*    No transcript available.
*
*    ---- Unsent job status ----
*
*   Destination: num.fax@0630331729
*         JobID: 25
*       GroupID: 25
*        Sender: root

I use sendmail v8.9.3;
I have follow the instructions of file: mailfax.sh-sendmail
    (which are basically 3 things AFAIK:
             1 line in sendmail.cf to Mfax.......
      1 line in sendmail.cf to R$<@$+.fax> ..... in S0 section
              copy the  mailfax.sh-sendmail    file to
/usr/local/lib/fax/mailfax
     )

Questions:

*1*
I have to email: vmoreno@0630331729.fax.HOST.DOMAIN.COM or
          vmoreno@0630331729.fax.DOMAIN.COM    ?

*2* Is it compulsory to attach in that email some postcript file ?

*3* About the content of file /usr/local/lib/fax/mailfax
     are all the comments but the last line.
What do I need to have in this line: ?
/usr/bin/faxmail -n -d "$1" "$2"

OR

/usr/bin/faxmail -v -n -s a4 -d "$1@$2" "$3" 2 > /var/log/faxlog

Thanks

Victor
