Why do you think this is a PCI modem?  It's an Internal PnP ISA modem, no
jumpers.

Take note of the name isapnp tools. Now, why would tools ment for ISA
devices work for PCI devices? 

Belive me, they don't. They only scan the PCI bus. 

The best way to configure a modem under linux is to set it manually
(jumpers on the card) to the settings you want. I never got my isa USR
to plug and play under linux. Then again, I didn't try to hard since I
wanted to get online now and the case was allready open. =)
