The conflict with versions 3.5.x of libtiff relate to a change in the
internal
interface of the library not with the lack of LZW compression.

Until the next release of HylaFAX, the recommendation must be to replace the
new libtiff with the tried and trusted version 3.4.6

For users that need to have version 3.5.x (and I believe that there are bugs
serious enough in v3.5.4 to recommend upgrading to 3.5.5) there will be a
patch available on www.hylafax.org shortly.

If you are receiving multiple page faxes then you may be interested in John
Williams patch to tiff2ps, available at www.hylafax.org/patches/
