fax sent but didn't get to destination

Hi,
I have Multi-Tech 14.4 modem. I'm running on FreeBSD 3.4 with
Hylafax4.0pre12.
I try sending a fax to a local fax machine and "faxstat" says "sending job
#..".
However, there was no fax on my fax machine. Do my faxes just get lost?
