Re: FIFO: PROBLEM SOLVED

Hi all!

At first, I want to mention that the problem is solved ...

Once again (the 5th or 6th time), I tried to start the Hylafax processes
with

# /etc/init.d/hylafax stop
Stopping HylaFAX Servers.
# /etc/init.d/hylafax start
HylaFAX: faxq hfaxd (w/ compatibility & SNPP).

then, suddenly
# ps -aef | grep "fax"
    uucp 9858 1 0 18:02:28 ? 0:00 /usr/local/HylaFAX-v4.0/sbin/faxq
    uucp 9860 1 0 18:02:28 ? 0:00 /usr/local/HylaFAX-v4.0/slib/hfaxd -i
hylafax -o 4557 -s 444

showed that the "faxq" is running.

# sbin/faxmodem tty1A

does not show any error!

I didnot configure anything else. Can anyone explain this strange
behaviour of the "faxq" process?

and then: THANKS TO ALL YOU TRIED TO HELP ME OUT OF THIS SITUATION !!!

I have to stop now, there are about 100 faxes to send ... just want to
check if everything is going on fine.

thank you
