There are several Linux tools that might do the job: you basically
want to login, then fire up the "dialback" or "dback" tool to wait
until you log out, then take over that modem and start a PPP
connection to your home machine.

Take a look at the Linux web sites: there have been a *LOT* of little
tools created to do this kind of thing that should be compatible.
