RE: Hylafax startup problem

Hmmm,
It looks for me as if faxQueuet trys to get the user-id of a user called UUCP, and fails this atemp.
Take a look at your /etc/passwd and make shure there is a user of this name,
if not, create one and that problem should be gone.

Subject:	flexfax: Hylafax startup problem

Hi,

I am using Slackware 3.6 with 2.0.36 kernel. I installed hylafax
4.0pl2. After I got everything setup, I have a error message on my syslog

FaxQueuet[80]: Can not deduce identity of UUCP

any idea of this error.

If I start a fresh faxsetup, faxq can run with no problem. After I did the
faxaddmodem, the faxq will not longer run and gave me the error above.
Faxgetty gave me the same error message. After I create the FIFO.tty??, all
these problem comes up.

The faxaddmodem can run smoothly, it can detect my modem.

Thanks

Terry
