Re: EOP trouble



This is an area in which the protocol handling could be improved, and has
been reported before (e.g., RE: flexfax: End Of Page error (EOP), 
steven@object-net.com, about 27 Oct 1998).  I see it, too, all to often.

It seems that some fax machines/modems just hang up the phone after they 
receive the EOP message, instead of replying with the correct handshake.

Certainly, Hylafax's handling could be changed to ignore improper connection
termination if all pages have been successfully transferred.  Mr. Steven Pham 
was working on a fix, but he didn't finish/release it.
