okay, you are right, I still had faxgetty runnig on the port. Thanks , any hints on the MaxDials config.. I changed added the following to /var/spool/fax/etc/conf. MaxDials: 3 MaxTries: 3 to no avail. I have even restarted the machine?? also I put the same thing in /usr/share/fax/sendfax.config still no dice. ?? thanks Robert
