Hi,

You need the gcc-2.8.0 patch, grab it from:

http://www.trump.net.au/~rjc/hylafax/
then 
$ cd hylafax-v4.0pl2
$ patch -p1 < gcc-2.8.0.diff
and recompile.

PS The equivalent patch present on http://www.hylafax.org/patches/ does not
quite work properly at the moment.
