For reasons implied but not explained in the "hosts" man page, you need
to change this to:

> ^philipp@diavolos\.oberberg-online\.de$:6000::

The UID may also be causing you trouble. You might try deleting that,
as a test of whether the UID 6000 has permissions to write files in the
fax spool.

It's also easier to test first with "faxstat" than to actually try
sending faxes.

Last, I *believe* that the hostid derived by hfaxd for authentication
is then used via a "gethostbyaddr" and the host name is derived from
that. This will be the *FIRST* hostname returned out of a set of
aliases: if the host has multiple aliases (such as
www.diavolos.oderberg-online.de) which get listed first, trying to
authenticate based on hostname will be a bit of an adventure.

With a minor tweak or two, it *should* work.
