Ahh, yes! This explains it. You need the zlib package, which is an
optional part of several dozen different things, including
ghostscript.
I think you could use the ghostscript package from there or the
HylaFAX and ghostscript packages from
http://cirl.meei.harvard.edu/hylafax/sun, which are slightly more
up to date the last time I looked.
