No, I didn't touch the config files. I downloaded the programm, installed
it and ran faxsetup.

I'm using Linux 2.0.33 and the modem I'm trying to make work a "Trust
Communicator 33.6 external" and it works perfectly for data connections.

Like I said: I didn't touch the file, and as far as I can see there is 
no ":" missing.

(Well, that is, of course, a very philosophical question: How is one 
supposed to see something that is missing ...??? ;-)
