flexfax: e-mail -> pager gateway options

I have spent quite some time getting the e-mail to fax gateway working the
way I wanted it (Linux RedHat 4.2 + sendmail setup). I ended up combining
features of dirk s and bob's faxmailer scripts.

I am now embarking on the equivalent for a paging service. Before I get
started tweaking the faxmailer script, has anyone else done this already?
It seems there are two main issues - the etc/pagermap file - I need to
understand the regexes in there better, and then the formatting - do you
take the body of the message and throw the rest away or just keep the
Subject: line, message size limits etc. Mailfax takes care of most of the
latter for mail->fax.

Any tips gratefully received.
