    Hello!

I'm trying to install HylaFAX again (this is the second time), the first
time (at home) it worked very well, and now at the school it seems that
    some problems appear.
I'm installing HylaFAX 4.0pl1 with the Dirks-faxmailer patch on a
    Pentium based server with Linux.

When I send a fax the faxmailer script executes the following sentence:

    /usr/local/bin/faxmail -n | /usr/local/bin/sendfax -f 'root <root> (+34
    3 401-68-01)' -h 'gea04' -n -m -d '@4114343' -D 2>&1
    1>/tmp/.faxmailer.166

then the sendfax program stops. With the ps -x command you can see:

    165 p2 S 0:00 send-mail -i fax.4114343
    166 ? S 0:00 perl /usr/local/bin/faxmailer fax 4114343
    168 ? S 0:00 sh -c /usr/local/bin/faxmail -n |
    /usr/local/bin/sendfax -f
    170 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/bin/sendfax -f root <root> (+34 3
    401-68-01) -h

And in the log file all seems stopped also:

    Somebody has an idea?

Try running telnet on the same host where the sendfax(1) is running

$ telnet gea04 4559

and see what the hfaxd(1M) is doing for you. You may also enable
the trace of the client/server protocol in the hfaxd.conf file.
