tiffg3 is actually pretty damn compressed. I would leave it alone as
much as possible.

The TIFF libraries include "tiffcp" and "fax2tiff", which will very
effectively convert tiffg3 to the more standard TIFF, one per
page. You can then turn these into arbitrary image formats. What I've
never set up is getting them into organized, numbered files with
the right suffix numbers. For example, a 12 page fax should be:

	fax00001.fax  ->	fax0001.tif.01
				fax0001.tif.02
				...
				fax0001.tif.09
				fax0001.tif.10
				fax0001.tif.11
				fax0001.tif.12

so that they are listed in correct alphabetical order by most browsers.
