First, Liz, include the version of HylaFAX, the version of ghostscript,
and the operating system on which you installed them. Second, tell us
if you installed binaries or compiled it yourself. Third, try sending
a plain text file as your fax, to make sure that you are not sending
some strange Postscript that is breaking ghostscript, and try sending
a file already converted to tiffg3 with the "ps2fax" command.

That should get you started...
