    Sorry - I can't keep Microsoft mail from doing this.

    This is "AT&S0" if executed separately. This is a part of the ModemResetCmds
    explained in the config file I sent 2 emails ago.

not sure; for me every "=3D" stands for an "=" character in your
mail and the sequence AT&B1&N0&S0S18=3D4S38.3=3D1E0V1Q0S0=3DH"
reads AT&B1&N0&S0S18=4S38.3=1E0V1Q0S0=H (and S0=H is wrong);
please check the ASCII log file again for it;

    I would split the command this way:
    (AT) &B1
    	&N0
     	&S0
    	S18=4
    	S38.3=1
    	D1
    	E0
    	V1
    	Q0
    	S0=3
    	H0

if you set S0=3 this is also wrong for HylaFAX; the S0 must be
zero (the modem shouldn't pick up the call itself; faxgetty(1M)
does this with an ATA command); setting S0=3 will also perhaps
set the modem to not showing the RING message to faxgetty(1M);

klar (yes, sure);
