Ahh, Dave: I'm setting up my linux box at home, similarly, after
using HylaFAX on Sun's at work.

Have you considered using one of the HTML-fax gateway packages at
ftp://ftp.sgi.com/sgi/fax/contrib/ ? This could let any box
on your network with a web browser submit jobs, without special
applications with which to do it.
